Mountain to Valley operates as a non-profit organization, with the aim of promoting long runs and connection to nature and the environment. The members of the association are running enthusiasts, residents of the community settlement Timrat and other settlements in the Jezreel Valley. All members of the association are volunteers.
Mountain to Valley relay race was founded by the members of the association after a successful experience in a similar relay race in the state of Vermont in the United States. Mountain to Valley race takes place every year, on the night of the first full moon after Passover. The idea is to share the love of long-distance running with the participants of the race, adjustment to different degrees of difficulty, each according to their abilities, integration between the individual runner and the group and a connection to the magnificent landscapes of the north of Israel.
